DE PERE - St. Norbert College seniors Emily Schudrowitz and Kelsey Timm both earned Academic All-America status for the second straight year on the Capitol One Academic All-District track and field/cross country teams, presented by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

Schudrowitz earned first-team honors after earning second-team accolades last year, while Timm was a second-team Academic All-American for the second consecutive year.

Schudrowitz, a Wauwatosa native and a graduate of Wauwatosa East High School, holds a 3.94 grade point average while majoring in international business and Spanish. Schudrowitz claimed the national championship in 800-meter run at the NCAA Division III national meet in May. She also won the 2010 Division III indoor 800-meter national title. Schudrowitz has won 18 Midwest Conference championships, qualified for NCAA national competition 10 times and owns nine St. Norbert and four Midwest Conference records.

Timm, an Oconomowoc native and a graduate of Lake Country Lutheran High School, holds a 4.00 grade point average while majoring in psychology and history. Timm finished in second place in the 3,000-meter steeplechase and was third in the 10,000-meter run at the 2012 Midwest Conference Outdoor Championship. She won the 10,000-meter run and was the 3,000-meter steeplechase runner-up at the 2011 Midwest Conference Outdoor Championship. She also placed ninth as a freshman and junior and was 16th as a senior at the Midwest Conference Cross Country Championship.

The honors are the seventh and eighth Academic All-America honors for St. Norbert track and field. In addition to Schudrowitz's and Timm's two selections apiece, also honored were Kevin Lannon (1997 - second team), Jill Nelson (1990 - second team; 1991 - first team) and Laura Salm (1993 - first team).

It also the 53rd time among 39 recipients a student-athlete has received Academic All-America mention. St. Norbert's 53 Academic All-Americans are the most among Midwest Conference member schools.

To be eligible for national or regional selection, a student-athlete must be a varsity starter or key reserve, maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.30 on a scale of 4.0, have reached sophomore athletic and academic standing at his current institution and be nominated by his sports information director. The Academic All-America team is selected after All-District teams are picked from eight geographic regions nationally.
