St. Norbert Rolls to 4-0 Showing in Elmhurst Tournament

ELMHURST, Ill. - St. Norbert College went an impressive 4-0 against quality competition at the Elmhurst College Invitational at Fagenel Hall.

On Friday, the Green Knights swept Whitman College 25-21, 25-19 and 25-20 before picking up a five-set win over Carthage College. The Green Knights topped the Lady Reds, who were ranked No. 12 in the pre-season AVCA Division III Top 25 Poll, 25-22, 20-25, 20-25, 27-25, 15-11.

Against Whitman, Danielle Remy had eight kills, and Abby West finished with 22 assists. Breanne Brocker had 25 digs, while Catherine Guido added 21. Remy finished with a team-high five blocks.

Against Carthage, Brocker had 14 kills in 36 attempts against just one error to lead the offense. Remy added 13 kills and six blocks. West finished with 39 assists and Guido totaled 33 digs.

St. Norbert beat the U.S. Coast Guard Academy, which was receiving votes in the pre-season poll, 25-21, 19-25, 27-25, 25-11 on Saturday. The Green Knights made it 4-0 on the weekend with a 25-11, 25-18, 24-26, 25-19 win over Albion College.

Against the Coast Guard Academy, Mary Kate Manion had 10 kills and 14 digs. West totaled 24 assists, and Brocker had 24 digs with Guido adding 23.

Against Albion, Manion and Brocker both compiled 13 digs. West had 43 assists, and Guido had 26 digs.

Guido was named to the All-Tournament Team.
