Green Knights Place Third at MWC Championship

GREEN BAY - St. Norbert College finished in third place at the Midwest Conference Championship hosted by the Green Knights at Colburn Park.

The Green Knights totaled 106 points for their best conference finish since finishing second in 2008. Grinnell College won its 25th championship in 27 years with 33 points, while defending champion Lawrence University was second with 93 points. Grinnell's Frank Canady won the individual championship by covering the 8,000-meter course in a time of 25 minutes 22 seconds.

St. Norbert had two All-Midwest Conference performances. Michael Heise finished in 13th place with a time of 26:07, while Logan Jadin followed in 14th place in 26:10.

Brady Bemis placed 24th in 26:37, while Nathan Heppe was 27th in 26:52. Hayden Hoffmann completed St. Norbert's scoring with a 28th-place finish in 26:52.

Benny Swift finished in 29th with a time of 26:55, and Heath Hougas was 35th with a time of 27:08 to round out St. Norbert's top seven finishers.
