MINNEAPOLIS - St. Norbert College freshman forward Tyler Zepeda scored in overtime to lift the top-ranked Green Knights to a 3-2 win over Augsburg College at Augsburg Ice Arena's Ed Saugestad Rink.

The Green Knights (4-0) won at Augsburg for the first time since Jan. 21, 1989, and claimed their first overtime game-winner since Feb. 21, 2009. St. Norbert extended its winning streak to 13 games overall.

Augsburg (1-2) took a 2-1 lead midway through the third period on an unassisted shorthanded goal by Loren Egan with 9:42 left in regulation. The Green Knights answered on the same power play however, tying the game on a Brandon Hoogenboom score with 8:27 to go, with Erik Cooper and Zepeda assisting.

About one minute into overtime, St. Norbert head coach Tim Coghlin called timeout and put his top line of Zepeda, Kyle Stroh and Mason Baptista back on the ice. Following the breather, Zepeda scored at the 1:31 mark of the extra session with his linemates assisting.

The Auggies took a 1-0 lead after one period when Tim Serratore scored unassisted at 14:25. The Green Knights tied the game at 12:41 of the second period on Cullen Bradshaw's third goal of the season, with Joe Perry and Kyle Beaulieu assisting.

With 3:16 left in the second period, a section of glass was knocked loose from the boards and the second intermission was taken at that time. The end of the third period and overtime session was played with heavy snow on the ice.

St. Norbert outshot Augsburg 28-24, including 10-6 in the third period and 2-0 in overtime. The Green Knights were 1-for-4 on the power play, while the Auggies were 0-for-5.
