Green Knights Take Fourth at Wisconsin Private Meet

RIPON - The St. Norbert College women's track and field team placed foruth at the Wisconsin Private College Invitational at Ingalls Field.

The Green Knights scored 89 points. Carthage won the event with 195 points, followed by Carroll with 181 points and Ripon's 94 points.

Ashley Graybill won the 400-meter dash with a time of 56.72 seconds. She also placed third in the 200-meter dash with a spring of 27.61 seconds. Graybill added a fifth in the high jump with a leap of 4 feet 5 1/2 inches.

Emily Sommers placed second in a pair of field events. Sommers leaped 15-9 1/2 in the long jump and threw the javelin 104-2.

Jenna Kick ran in the 10,000-meter run, finishing second. Her time was 39:44.70.

Elizabeth Groshek was third in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:33.81. She added a fifth-place showing in the 1,500-meter run with a jaunt of 5:24.48.

Anne Mueller placed fourth in the 100-meter hurdles (17.37 seconds) and sixth in the 400-meter hurdles (78.62). Meg Gross was sixth in the 3,000-meter steeplechase at 13:23.17.

St. Norbert's 4x100-meter relay team took third with a combined time of 52.03 seconds.

The previous night at the Hillsdale College Gina Relays, Marisa Trakanovich took 14th in the 400 hurdles but set a school record with a time of 1:06.26. Jenny Scherer lowered here NCAA provisional qualifying time of 37:26.19 in the 10,000-meter run.
