SUPERIOR - St. Norbert College capped off its first two-game series sweep at UW-Superior's Wessman Arena in 16 years with a 3-1 Northern Collegiate Hockey Association win over the Yellowjackets.

The Green Knights (14-2-1, 8-1-1 NCHA), who won the Friday's series opener 5-0, last took four points in Superior with wins of 3-1 and 7-3 over the Yellowjackets on Jan. 10-11, 1997 - the year St. Norbert won its first NCHA regular-season championship.

St. Norbert, who won its eighth straight game overall, took a 1-0 lead in the first period on Sam Dougherty's second goal of the season just 5:32 into the game. The Yellowjackets (10-6-1, 5-4-1) drew back to even at 1-1 when Brett Wold scored 51 seconds into the second period.

The Green Knights' red-hot power play proved to be the difference down the stretch. Tyler Zepeda scored his ninth goal of the season with a man-advantage goal at 4:34 of the second period, while Mason Baptista scored his fourth goal of the season with a power-play marker at 8:57 of the third period.

St. Norbert, which was 2-for-4 on the power play in the game, is now 35-for-91 on the power play this season, a blistering 38.5 percentage.

Baptista assisted on Zepeda's goal to give him a two-point game, the only multi-point showing for the Green Knights.

Superior outshot St. Norbert 25-22. David Jacobson made 24 saves for the Green Knights. Drew Strandberg made 19 stops for the Yellowjackets.
