Green Knights Capture Wisconsin Private Colleges Meet Title

RIPON - St. Norbert College won the Wisconsin Private College Track and Field Invitational at Ingalls Field.

The Green Knights totaled 150.83 points at the meet, besting runner-up Carroll by 9 1/2 points. Ripon was back in third with 110 points.

St. Norbert claimed three event championships. Aaron Roden won the 10,000-meter run in a time of 33:03.57. Alex Albers cleared 13 feet 5 3/4 inches in the pole vault to win. The Green Knights' 4x100-meter relay team also won in a time of 43.57 seconds.

Dann Schneider fared well in the long sprints and jumps. Schneider placed second in the 400 and third in the 200. Schneider ran a time of 49.80 seconds in the 400, while running a time of 23.37 seconds in the 200. In the triple jump, Schneider was second with a leap of 41-feet 8 1/2 meters. In the long jump Schneider jumped 19-8 1/4.

Paul Leeman was second in the high jump with a height of 6-feet, 1/4 inch. He added a third-place finish in the triple jump with a distance of 41-4 1/4.

Josh Zweiger took second in the 100-meter hurdles (16.25 seconds), while Albers was fifth in the event at 16.85 seconds.

John Barrett placed fourth in the 800 (2:07.23) and sixth in the 1,500 (4:25.77). Mackenzie Laska was third in the 3,000-meter steeplechase at 10:40.99.

Dustin Dessell added a second-place in the long jump to the Green Knights tally, jumping 198 3/4. Tony Grossman placed third in the pole vault at 12-6.
