DE PERE - St. Norbert College couldn't recover from an early two-goal deficit and fell 3-1 to fifth-ranked UW-River Falls in a Northern Collegiate Hockey Association game at Resch Olympic Pavilion.

River Falls (8-4-2, 7-2-2 NCHA) jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the early going. Katie Batters scored for the Falcons at the 4:06 mark of the first period, while Chloe Kinsel added a goal 25 seconds later for a 2-0 edge.

The Green Knights would cut the deficit to 2-1 on Danielle Rozon's power-play goal at 8:49 of the first period, but would get no closer.

St. Norbert had a 6-on-4 extra-attacker power-play opportunity in the game's final moments after River Falls was called for a penalty with 1:51 left. But the Falcons salted the game away with a shorthanded, empty-net goal by Kait Mason with 36 seconds remaining.

River Falls held a 51-20 shots-on-goal advantage. Kaley Gibson made 48 saves for the Green Knights, while Gillian McDonald made 19 stops for the Falcons. River Falls was 0-for-5 on the power play, while St. Norbert was 1-for-6.
