Green Knights Fade Late Against Carroll

DE PERE - St. Norbert College suffered through an ice-cold shooting night in the second half and fell to Carroll University 60-45 in a Midwest Conference game on Connie Tilley Court at Schuldes Sports Center.

St. Norbert (13-7, 10-5 MWC) held a 29-19 halftime lead, and still led the Pioneers 43-41 with 7:19 remaining. Carroll (10-8, 9-6) then went on a 19-2 run to close out the game and the win.

The Green Knights shot 7-for-27 (25.9 percent) from the floor in the second half and 20-for-54 (37.0 percent) for the game. St. Norbert made just 2 of 22 (9.1 percent) three-point field-goal attempts. Heidi Van Sistine led St. Norbert off the bench with 10 points and seven rebounds.

Carroll, which shot just 22.2 percent (6-for-27) in the first half, made 72.2 percent (13-for-18) of its field goals in the second half to shoot 42.2 percent (19-for-45) for the game. Carroll also made 20 of 26 (76.9 percent) of its free throws. Nicolette Rini led Carroll off the bench by scoring 15 points. Corrine Engels and Malory Christenson each added 10 points for the Pioneers.
