St. Norbert Splits Again in Sunshine State

KISSIMMEE, Fla. - St. Norbert College split in Florida for the third straight day on its 10-game road trip at the Rebel Games. The Green Knights lost to Millikin University 11-3 before rebounding to top Transylvania University 4-3 in the nightcap.

St. Norbert (5-5) from a 3-1 deficit in the second game. Steph Brunette stroked a two-run single in the bottom of the fourth inning to give the Green Knights a 3-3 tie. In the decisive sixth inning, Brunette led off the inning with an infield single. Following a sacrifice bunt and a groundout, Jessica DeMeuse hit a single to drive in Brunette with the game-winning run.

The Green Knights had 13 hits. Brunette, DeMeuse, MacKenzie Hazen, Abby Gildernick and Emily Laufer all collected two hits apiece. Shannen Schmidt picked up the win in relief, allowing one hit in 3 2/3 innings with no walks and two strikeouts.

St. Norbert's lone offensive highlight against Millikin came on Morgan Buboltz's three-run home run in the third inning.
