Green Knights Get Sweep to Close Out Florida Trip

KISSIMMEE, Fla. -- St. Norbert College finished its spring-break trip to the Rebel Games with a pair of wins on its last day of action. The Green Knights topped Washington (Md.) College 11-3 and The Sage Colleges 4-0.

St. Norbert (7-5) scored in every inning in the rout of Washington (10-3). The Green Knights benefited from a strong game from Steph Brunette, who finished 4-for-5 with four runs scored and six RBIs.

Brunette had a two-run double in the second inning, and followed up with a three-run home run in the third inning. Brunette also had an RBI single in the sixth inning.

Morgan Buboltz, who finished 2-for-3, hit a solo home run in the fourth. JoAnna Ruppa was 3-for-3 with three runs scored, while Samantha Gross was 2-for-3 with two RBIs.

Morgan Rusch earned the complete-game win by allowing six hits with three walks and four strikeouts.

Against Sage, St. Norbert got a complete-game shutout from Shannen Schmidt. Schmidt scattered 11 hits but did not walk a batter and struck out three.
