Green Knights Cruise to Carroll Invite Championship

WAUKESHA - St. Norbert College registered a whopping 291 points to win the championship of the Carroll University Invitational at the Dennis Punches Track and Field Complex.

The Green Knights finished well ahead of runner-up Carroll, which had 198.5 points. Beloit College was third with 78 points.

Liz LeCaptain won both the 100- and 200-meter dashes with times of 12.61 seconds and 27.29 seconds, respectively. Kyra VandenHeuvel also won two events, winning the long jump (16 feet, 7 inches) and the triple jump (34-8 1/4).

Charlotte Walsh, Hannah Andrekus and Steph Hietpas swept the top three spots in the 1,500-meter dash with respective times of 5:07.20, 5:08.50 and 5:16.55. Walsh added a second-place finish in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 19:13.45.

Taylor Wenzel won the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 16.13 seconds, and she finished second in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:11.95.

Erin McShea copped the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:00.47. Vanderlin shared the high jump title with a leap of 5-3 3/4.

Lauren Janes was first in the 3,000-meter steeplechase in 12:56.00, while Liz Hietpas was second in 13:04.09.

Jaclyn Kerner was third in the 200-meter dash in 27.31 seconds. Elvia Martinez finished third in the 10,000-meter run with a time of 40:21.15. Allyson Klein was third in the 400-meter hurdles in 1:13.59. Kalee Luedtke was third in the long jump at 15-8 3/4, while Ashley Bondarowicz was third in the triple jump at 32-9 1/2.

The 4x100-meter relay of Kerner, Vanderlin, Calli Nonnemacher and Jolene Kerner won with a time of 52.21 seconds. Jaclyn Kerner, McShea, Karissa Kaiser and Nonnemacher won the 4x400-meter relay with a time of 4:18.90.
