St. Norbert Takes Two of Three at Beloit

BELOIT - St. Norbert College closed out the regular season by taking two of three games from Beloit in a rare Midwest Conference tripleheader at The Ballpark at Strong Stadium. The Green Knights won the first two games by scores of 9-0 and 7-0 before dropping the nightcap 7-3.

St. Norbert (24-11, 12-4 MWC) got sterling starts from pitchers Kevin Nutley and Brett Nohr in the two wins. Nutley (5-2) went six innings and allowed four hits with one walk and five strikeouts before giving way to Matt Zacharias, who went the last three innings of the opener without allowing a hit. Nohr went seven innings and allowed five hits with one walk and one strikeout to improve to 6-1 on the season. Nohr has allowed just two runs in 32 innings in Midwest Conference play this season.

The Green Knights broke open a 3-0 game in the opener with a six-run sixth innings. Travis Mason had a two-run single in the frame, with St. Norbert getting just two hits during the rally.

St. Norbert had eight hits in the game, with Troy Rottier going 2-for-4 with two runs scored.

Nick Dagneau had a two-run single in the second inning of the second game for a 2-0 lead. Nick Pierre then delivered a bases-loaded double to boost the lead to 5-0 in the fifth inning.

Dagneau, Mason, Cameron Jerina and Brandon Kozinski all had two hits apiece in the 11-hit attack, with Dagneau driving in three runs along with Pierre.

St. Norbert fell behind 7-0 in the nightcap before mounting a late rally. Alex Larsen had a two-run double in the sixth inning for the Green Knights, who had six hits.
