St. Norbert Places Third at MWC Championship

BELOIT - St. Norbert College finished in third place at the Midwest Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championship at Beloit College's Strong Stadium.

The Green Knights totaled 99.5 points. Monmouth College won the conference title for the eighth consecutive year with a total of 244.5 points. Illinois College was second with 112 points.

Erin McShea copped the conference title in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:15.49.

Liz LeCaptain placed second in the 100-meter dash in 12.05 seconds, being nipped at the tape by Beloit's Felicia Carlson despite breaking a 22-year-old St. Norbert record. Mara Aparnieks was fourth in the event at 12.58 seconds, while Kari Braatz was eighth in 14.17 seconds.

Taylor Wenzel finished in third place in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 15.67 seconds, with Andrea Bosman finishing fourth in 16.23 seconds. Wenzel added a fifth-place showing in the 400-meter hurdles in 1:07.12.

Jaclyn Kerner was fourth in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:00.07, while Hannah Andrekus was fourth in the 800-meter run in 2:22.01.

The St. Norbert 4x100-meter relay of Aparnieks, Braatz, Angel Hon and LeCaptain placed third in 49.66 seconds. The 4x400-meter relay of Kerner, Ashley Polomis, McShea and Karissa Kaiser was fourth in a time of 4:06.35.

Kyra VandenHeuvel was sixth in the triple jump at 34-10 1/4, while Kate Schabach was eighth in the shot put at 37-4. Meagan Murphy was sixth in the javelin throw with a heave of 98-3.

Charlotte Walsh was seventh in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 19:07.15. Hon finished eighth in the 200-meter dash with a time of 26.78 seconds. Lauren Janes was eighth in the 3,000-meter steeplechase in 12:13.13.
