Five Named All-Midwest Conference

DE PERE - Five St. Norbert College baseball players have been named All-Midwest Conference recently released by the conference office.

Freshman pitcher Brett Nohr, junior outfielder Alex Larsen, junior pitcher Kevin Nutley, sophomore infielder Troy Rottier and junior infielder Travis Mason were among the 14 players named to the All-MWC North Division team.

Nohr, an Ashwaubenon native, was named North Division Pitcher of the Year. Nohr fashioned a 7-1 record with a 2.79 earned run average and .259 batting average against. In 32 innings in MWC play, Nohr allowed two runs. He also defeated MWC champion Ripon College twice, including a 5-2 10-inning complete-game win in the MWC Tournament.

Nutley, a Forest Park, Ill., native, was named first-team All-MWC for the second consecutive year. Nutley finished 5-4 with a 3.04 earned run average with a .225 batting average against. Nutley allowed 62 hits in 74 innings pitched.

Mason, a De Pere native, was also named first-team All-MWC for the second consecutive season. Mason finished with a .327 batting average, four home runs and 36 RBIs. Mason also had 13 doubles, four triples and 12 stolen bases.

Rottier, a Seymour native, hit .327 this season with 11 doubles, three home runs and 25 RBIs. Rottier stole 10 bases and was second on the team with 45 runs scored.

Larsen, a Baileys Harbor native, hit a team-high .356 with six home runs and 38 RBIs. Larsen's 57 hits and 87 total bases led the team, and he was successful 22 times in 23 stolen-base attempts.

The Green Knights finished this season 27-13, matching a school record for wins, and finished in second place at the Midwest Conference Tournament.
