Green Knights Drop Heartbreaker to Lakeland

DE PERE - St. Norbert College allowed a goal in the 90th minute of action, and that was the difference as Lakeland College tipped the Green Knights 3-2 in a non-conference match at Schneider Stadium.

St. Norbert (0-1) had trailed 2-0 and battled back to tie the game late. But Lakeland (2-0) answered when Farouk Dadzie's pass was converted by Paul Elzinga with 38 seconds remaining in regulation time for the game-winning goal.

Dadzie put the Muskies up 1-0 at 21:26, and Mirko Tadic added a goal for a 2-0 edge at the 48:52 mark.

The Green Knights answered at 74:24 when Kirill Vasilenko converted a penalty kick. St. Norbert knotted the match at 2-2 when Brandon Buhr's corner kick was headed in by Sam Lamers at 83:12.

St. Norbert held a 19-16 edge in shots and had six corner kicks to the Muskies' two. Scott Faul made five saves in taking the loss for the Green Knights. Austin Ganzke made nine saves for the Muskies.
