Green Knights Place Solid Seventh at Strong Midwest Open

SOMERS - St. Norbert College finished in seventh place among 16 teams at a highly competitive UW-Parkside Midwest Open at Dannehl National Cross Country Course.

The Green Knights finished with 229 points to finish ahead of perennial NCAA Division III power UW-Oshkosh's 244 points. St. Norbert also finished ahead of Division II schools Michigan Tech University, Tiffin University and St. Joseph's College, which finished ninth to 11th, respectively.

Edinboro (Pa.) College won the meet with 35 points, while Parkside was second and Northwestern University and University of Indianapolis tied for third. Jess Watychowicz ran unattached to win the 5K event with a time of 17:39.4. There was a total of 200 runners in the meet.

Elvia Martinez posted the top finish for the Green Knights, finishing 22nd overall with a time of 19:08.6. Charlotte Walsh was 42nd with a time of 19:25.9, while Brittany Kozlowski was 54th in 19:44.8.

Erin Artz placed 63rd with a time of 20:00 flat, and Clarissa Jauregui was 70th overall with a time of 20:05.7. Hannah Andrekus was 86th in 20:20.5, while Alyssa Price completed the Green Knights' top seven with a 92nd-place showing in 20:25.6.
