Vanden Avond Breaks Another Record in Rout of Beloit

GREEN BAY - St. Norbert College junior forward Katie Vanden Avond because the school and Midwest Conference career leader in points after scoring two goals to lead the Green Knights to a 6-0 win over Beloit College at Ashwaubenon High School's Goelz Field.
Vanden Avond's two markers gives her 167 career points, surpassing St. Norbert's Sara Gross, who had 165 points from 2001-04. Earlier this season Vanden Avond reached both the school and MWC career goals record.
St. Norbert (8-3-2, 4-1) pumped in three goals in each half. The Green Knights got on the board with Nicole Beine scoring at 20:09 for her first goal of the year, with Zoe Kurth assisting. Elly Wiebusch scored at 32:26, followed by Vanden Avond scoring from Kurth at 41:17.
Vanden Avond scored her 22nd goal of the season at 60:13, with Shannon Jung assisting. Kurth added a goal at 66:32, with Elly Wiebusch assisting. Kaitlin Schmitz scored the game's final marker at 71:43, with Kurth netting her third assist of the game.
St. Norbert outshot Beloit 23-1. Sarah Platzer and Maddie Plinska combined to make one save for the Green Knights. Beloit's Alex Spirov made eight saves.
