Green Knights Claim MWC North Division Title

NEW BERLIN - St. Norbert College clinched the Midwest Conference North Division championship with a 6-3 win over Carroll University at the Moorland Tennis Center.

The Green Knights (13-1, 3-0 MWC North) also earned a berth in Friday's Midwest Conference Team Championship in Rockford, Ill. Carroll (10-5, 3-1) will be the North Division's second representative.

St. Norbert picked up two doubles points. Nancy Chybowski and Erika Chitko topped Abigail Pellett and Megan Rosenburg 8-1 at No. 1. Katherine Ake and Maggie Berens defeated Samantha Hoyord and Katherine McCarthy 8-1 at No. 3.

The Green Knights finished off the win with four singles victories. Chitko claimed a 6-1, 6-2 win over Rosenburg at No. 2. Ake topped Hoyord 6-1, 6-1 at No. 4, while Ariel Bloniarz defeated Julie Schweiss 6-0, 6-1 at No. 5. Brittany Dudzik closed out the action with a 6-2, 6-0 win over Sarah Wick at No. 6.
