Green Knights Tie at St. Mary's

WINONA, Minn. - St. Norbert College outshot St. Mary's University but ended up in a 2-2 stalemate in a non-conference game played at the SMU Ice Arena.

The Green Knights (8-5-2) outshot the Cardinals (4-8-1) by a 38-31 margin, including 19-10 in the first period, but ended up with the tie. It was the final non-conference game of the year for St. Norbert.

St. Mary's opened the scoring with a power-play goal by Jesse Cwik at the 9:14 mark of the first period. The Green Knights answered just about a minute-and-a-half later when Zoe Kurth scored her sixth goals of the season at the 10:43 mark, with Myranda Hayes assisting.

Stephanie Slinde then put the Green Knights ahead 2-1 with a goal 10 seconds into the second period, with Kurth and Laurel Hill assisting.

The Green Knights held that lead until St. Mary's Mary DeBartolo scored unassisted at the 5:03 mark of the third period for the equalizer.

Katie Aluia made 29 saves for the Green Knights, while Marah Shields made 36 stops for the Cardinals. St. Norbert was 0-for-4 on the power play, while St. Mary's was 1-for-6.
