Green Knights Set School Scoring Record in Rout of Knox

DE PERE - St. Norbert College set a school record for points in a game when it registered a 110-76 win over Knox College in a Midwest Conference game on Connie Tilley Court at Schuldes Sports Center.

The Green Knights (14-4, 11-2 MWC) broke their old record of 108, set in a 108-49 win over Lake Forest College on Feb. 4, 1984. St. Norbert also set a mark for most combined points in a game with 186, topping the previous high of 178 set in a 95-83 win over Illinois College on Jan. 25, 2003.

St. Norbert led 16-10 just 5 minutes into the game before going on a 14-2 run to take a 30-12 edge on a Morgan Heim basket with 10:55 left before halftime. Knox (4-13, 2-10) would cut the deficit down to 35-23 just 2 1/2 minutes later, but the Green Knights answered to go ahead by 20 at 44-24 on a pair of Jill Kleiman free throws at the 6:01 mark. St. Norbert led by as many as 24 points in the second half before settling on a 56-36 halftime lead.

The Green Knights led 62-42 with 18:24 left before going on a 15-2 run over the next 4:21 to take a 77-44 lead on a conventional three-point play by Lauren Carman.

Heidi Van Sistine set career highs in points and rebounds at 24 and 14, respectively, to lead the Green Knights. Stephanie Weigman added 15 points, while Carman had 14 points and six rebounds. Brianna Byrne chipped in with 13 points, while Heim finished with 10 points.

St. Norbert shot 52.5 percent (42-for-80) from the floor, and did not attempt a three-point field goal in the game. The Green Knights were 26-for-38 (68.4 percent) at the free-throw line, and outrebounded the Prairie Fire 56-34.

Grace Theisen led Knox with 22 points, while Jamie Blue added 12 points. The Prairie Fire shot 34.4 percent (22-for-64) from the floor and committed 32 turnovers.
