St. Norbert Finishes Second at MWC Indoor Meet

MOUNT VERNON, Iowa - St. Norbert College finished second at the Midwest Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships held at Cornell College.

The Green Knights totaled 112 1/2 points, finishing behind Monmouth College's 168 points. Carroll University was third with 99 points.

St. Norbert won the distance medley relay, with Taylor Miller, Brianna Alexander, Ali Fox and Charlotte Walsh finishing with a time of 13:05.38. The Green Knights also claimed the 4x400-meter relay, with Clarissa Jauregui, Jolene Kerner, Jaclyn Kerner and Brittany Kozlowski running a time of 4:02.99.

Liz LeCaptain finished in second place in the 60-meter dash, turning in a St. Norbert-record time of 7.82 seconds. Kate Schabach finished fifth in the weight throw, but also set a school record with a heave of 44 feet 9 3/4 inches.

Taylor Wenzel was third in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.57 seconds. Amanda Yenter was fifth in 9.81 seconds, while Teagan Wernicke was eighth in 10.75 seconds.

Samantha Morateck was second in the high jump with a height of 5-3 1/4, while Nicole Vanderlin was third at 5-1 1/4. Kozlowski was second in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:19.04, while Jauregui was fourth in 2:21.21.

Jaclyn Kerner was fifth in the 400-meter dash with a time of 59.91 seconds. Walsh finished eighth in the 3,000-meter run with a time of 10:57.96.

Angel Hon was eighth in the 200-meter dash with a time of 27.06 seconds.
