Green Knights Set Season Record for Wins With Two Victories in Hilton Head

HILTON HEAD, S.C. - St. Norbert College set the school record for wins in a season by claiming two wins to open its spring break trip. The Green Knights topped NCAA Division II-member University of Illinois-Springfield 8-1 and then clipped Albright College 6-3.

The Green Knights improved to 16-2 on the season, topping the previous mark of 15 wins set in 1996 and 2011.

St. Norbert opened its match against Illinois-Springfield with three doubles wins. Nancy Chybowski and Elizabeth Manlick beat Megan Zumbahlen and Faith Hook 8-5 at No. 1, followed with an 8-3 win for Ashley Randazzo and Katherine Ake over Janasha Prabhu and Hannah Latif at No. 2. Emily Rasmussen and Lizzy Tews topped Cassidy Burkhardt and Katie Kirschbaum 8-2 at No. 3.

Manlick defeated Hook 6-1, 6-1 at No. 2, while Ake blanked Prabhu 6-0, 60- at No. 3 singles. Ariel Bloniarz defeated Latif 6-3, 6-1 at No. 4, followed by Brittany Dudzik's 6-1, 6-0 win over Burkhardt at No. 5. Anna Gosz shutout Elizabeth Purcell 6-0, 6-0 at No. 6.

St. Norbert earned two doubles wins over Albright. Ake and Randazzo defeated Brooke Ronney and Melissa Carberry 8-5 at No. 2, and Rasmussen and Tews tipped Christina Peacock and Erin Sullivan 9-7 at No. 3.

Manlick defeated Ronney 6-2, 6-0 at No. 2 singles. Bloniarz bested Carberry 6-4, 6-3 at No. 4, while Dudzik defeated Erin Sullivan 6-1, 7-5 at No. 5. Gosz claimed a 6-2, 6-1 win over Peacock at No. 6.
