KENOSHA - St. Norbert College salvaged a doubleheader split at Carthage College, losing the opener 2-0 before rallying to take the nightcap 4-2 in a pair of non-conference games at Carthage Softball Field.

The Green Knights (5-10) trailed 2-0 in the fourth inning when JoAnna Ruppa and Abby Gildernick singled. Codi Jenshak then ripped a three-run home run to left field to give St. Norbert a 3-2 lead.

St. Norbert picked up an insurance run in the fifth inning when Jessica DeMeuse's RBI single scored Tayler Long.

Brianna Byrne picked up her first win, allowing three hits and no earned runs in a complete-game effort. Byrne struck out four and walked four.

In the opener, the Green Knights couldn't solve Lady Reds pitcher Katie Herron, who twirled a five-hit shutout. She walked two and struck out five.

Morgan Rusch took the loss, allowing two runs in the first inning. She scattered 10 hits with one walk and two strikeouts. Jenshak was 2-for-3 with a double for the Green Knights.
