Green Knights Finish Season With 24 Wins

KENOSHA - St. Norbert College finished its record-breaking season with a 24-5 record after concluding its season with a split of dual matches at Eastside Tennis & Fitness Club. The Green Knights beat Edgewood College 7-2 before falling to Carthage College 7-2.

St. Norbert got off to a good start against Edgewood by winning two doubles points. Katherine Ake and Ashley Randazzo beat Brooke McBain and Ellie Wilkie 8-6 at No. 2, followed by Ariel Bloniarz and Lizzy Tews topping Laura Olsen and Sarah Rendon 8-5 at No. 3.

Elizabeth Manlick picked up a 6-3, 6-0 win over Anna Miles at No. 2 singles. Ake defeated Wilkie 6-2, 6-2 at No. 3, followed by Bloniarz's 6-3, 6-2 win over Olsen at No. 4. Anna Gosz defeated McBain 6-3, 6-4 at No. 5.

Ake and Bloniarz won the only matches for the Green Knights against Carthage. Ake defeated Abbi Howell 6-3, 6-4 at No. 3 singles, and Bloniarz bested Eliza Barter 6-4, 6-3 at No. 4 singles.

Ake finished the year with a 30-4 singles mark, setting a school record for wins in a season. Ake also went 25-4 in doubles play. Bloniarz (26-9) and Manlick (25-9) also joined Ake as the first netters to record 25 singles wins in a season at St. Norbert.
