DE PERE - St. Norbert College senior infielder Travis Mason has been named to the first team of the Capital One NCAA Division III Baseball Academic All-District VI squad, presented by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). It is the second-straight first-team Academic All-District VI honor for Mason, who was also a first-team Academic All-American last year.

Mason, a De Pere native and a West De Pere High School graduate, owns a perfect 4.00 grade point average with a major in business administration. Mason is currently hitting a team-best .378 this season for the Green Knights, who are 16-14. Mason, a two-time first-team All-Midwest Conference selection, also has five doubles, three triples, three home runs and 26 runs batted in with 19 runs scored.

Mason has been a team captain as a junior and senior. He has earned the Financial Executives International Student Achievement Award, which is awarded to the top finance student at St. Norbert College. He is also a volunteer with Green Bay Black Knights youth baseball, the Pink Flamingo charity softball tournament in De Pere and Bowl for Kids Sake.

To be eligible for national or regional selection, a student-athlete must be a varsity starter or key reserve, maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.30 on a scale of 4.0, have reached sophomore athletic and academic standing at his current institution and be nominated by his sports information director. The Academic All-America team, scheduled to be announced May 28, is selected after All-District teams are picked from eight geographic regions nationally. All first-team Academic All-District honorees advance to the Academic All-America ballot.
