Green Knights Finish Third at MWC Championship

GRINNELL, Iowa - St. Norbert College finished in third place in the team standings at the Midwest Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championship.

The Green Knights finished with 109 points. Monmouth College won the team title with 213 points, while Grinnell College was second with 125 points.

Liz LeCaptain placed second in the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.66 seconds, while Mara Aparnieks was fourth in 13.06 seconds. Brittany Kozlowski was second in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:14.07, and Clarissa Jauregui was sixth in 2:24.00.

Nicole Vanderlin, Samantha Morateck and Karissa Kaiser finished third, fourth and fifth, respectively, in the high jump. Vanderlin recorded 5-5 1/4, while Morateck and Kaiser both reached 5-3 1/4.

Jaclyn Kerner was fourth in the 400-meter dash in 57.08 seconds, while Jolene Kerner was eighth in 1:01.05.

Ashley Bondarowicz was sixth in the triple jump with a leap of 34-3 1/2. Teagan Wernicke was sixth in the 400-meter hurdles in 1:09.84. Alyssa Price was sixth in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 19:27.66.

The 4x100-meter relay of Aparnieks, Jaclyn Kerner, Erin Lang and LeCaptain was second with a time of 48.30 seconds. The 4x400-meter relay of Kaiser, Kozlowski, Jaclyn Kerner and Jolene Kerner also finished second with a time of 3:56.10, nipped at the wire in a photo finish by Grinnell College's 3:56.09.
