St. Norbert Splits on Opening Day at UW-Whitewater

WHITEWATER - St. Norbert College split its two matches on the first day of the 2014 season by losing in five sets to Carroll University and sweeping Grinnell College in three sets at the UW-Whitewater Tournament.

The Green Knights (1-1) fell to Carroll 15-25, 25-23, 25-17, 26-28, 15-12. Breanne Brocker led St. Norbert with 14 kills and 25 digs. Heidi Spies posted a team-high 17 kills. Kaitlin Delahaut totaled 36 assists and 18 digs, while Aubree Antosch registered 35 digs.

St. Norbert swept Grinnell 25-19, 25-19, 27-25. Spies and Brocker both had seven kills, while Hannah Johnshoy finished with six kills. Delahaut finished with 18 assists, and Antosch ended with 12 digs.

Both matches were considered non-conference tussles despite being against Midwest Conference opponents.
