Baeten Shines as Green Knights Romp to Tom Barry Invitational Title

GREEN BAY - St. Norbert College freshman Lisa Baeten cruised to a 35-second victory and led the Green Knights to the team title of the 40th Annual Tom Barry Invitational at Colburn Park.

Baeten covered the 5-kilometer course in 18 minutes 42 seconds in her first collegiate race, a mile pace of 6:01. Wisconsin Lutheran College's Julie Favorite was the runner-up at the Tom Barry Invitational for the second consecutive year, posting a time of 19:17.

St. Norbert handily won the team title with a tidy sum of 30 points. College of St. Scholastica was second with 64 points, while Lawrence University was third with 78 points.

Charlotte Walsh had the second-best showing for the Green Knights, finishing fourth with a time of 20:01. Alyssa Price was seventh in 20:15, while Taylor Miller was eighth in 20:20. Erin Artz was the final scorer for St. Norbert with a tenth-place finish in 20:26.

Brittany Kozlowski was 16th for St. Norbert in 20:47, while Sarah Parbs was a second behind in 17th place at 20:48.

The St. Norbert College Alumni finished in fifth place with a team score of 148 points. Jenny Scherer was the alumni's top finisher with an 11th-place time of 20:31.
