St. Norbert Roars Past Edgewood

MEQUON - St. Norbert College scored three first-half goals to take command en route to a 4-1 win over Edgewood College in a non-conference game at Warner Park.

The Green Knights (3-0) scored two goals 68 seconds apart early in the first half to take a 2-0 lead. Sean Sladky's redirect from 10 yards out at 16:20 was good for his first goal of the season. Joe Fabich then finished a give-and-go from Nathan Angell at 17:28.

Thomas Gritton put the Green Knights ahead 3-0 with a goal at 29:32, with Sergio Villalpando assisting. St. Norbert carried its three-goal advantage into halftime.

The Eagles scored on a Henry Simon goal at 46:28 to get to within 3-1, but Calian Schrader salted the game away at 48:19 with his first collegiate goal. Tyler Kassube assisted on the goal as well as on Sladky's marker.

St. Norbert held a narrow 14-13 shots advantage, but the Green Knights puts 10 shots on goal to the Eagles' four. Scott Faul made two saves for St. Norbert in 61 minutes of work, while Sam Lisheron made one save in 29 minutes of relief.
