MADISON - St. Norbert College had two of the three Midwest Conference doubles champions and came within a whisker of a sweep at the MWC Women's Tennis Doubles/Singles Championships held at the University of Wisconsin's Nielsen Tennis Stadium.

The Green Knights saw the No. 2 team of Erika Chitko and Katherine Ake and the No. 3 tandem of Anna Gosz and Ashley Randazzo win conference championships. The No. 1 duo of Elizabeth Manlick and Nancy Chybowski finished as the flight's runner-up.

Chitko and Ake made quick work of the No. 2 flight, losing only four points en route to their title. The pair beat Carroll University's Alison Lambrecht and Samantha Hoyord 8-1 in the quarterfinals, and then topped Grinnell College's Anushka Joshi and Hannah Cook 8-1 in the semifinals. Chitko and Ake then defeated Lake Forest College's Grace Dowling and Gracie Mullins 8-4 for the title.

Gosz and Randazzo opened their flight with an 8-1 quarterfinals win over Knox College's Lauren Sparks and Kaly Davidson. They then bested Lawrence University's Tess Vogel and Melissa Heeren 8-5 in the semifinals. The two then blanked Cornell College's Shashanna Moll and Katie Mintle 8-0 in the championship.

Manlick and Chybowski earned an 8-0 quarterfinals win over Knox's Tayten Chapman and Miranda Corbett. They then tipped Grinnell's Shirlene Luk and Virginia Purcell 8-4 in the semifinals. Manlick and Chybowski then lost 8-5 in the championship match to Carroll's Abigail Pellett and Julia Patzin.

Singles championships conclude Sunday at Nielsen Tennis Stadium.
