Goals Spring Forth as St. Norbert Routs Ripon

DE PERE - St. Norbert College snapped a three-match shutout streak as they topped Ripon College 8-0 in a Midwest Conference match at Schneider Stadium.

St. Norbert (10-4-3, 4-2-3 MWC) scored three first-half goals and then pumped in five goals in the second half to pull away.

Nathan Angell, Marco Delbecchi and Sam Lamers all scored in the first 45 minutes for the Green Knights. Angell scored again - his sixth goal of the year - just 46 seconds into the second half. Lamers scored at 50:52 for his team-high seventh goal of the year. Joe Fabich, Patrick Hehir and Jim Blisk all scored in the final 20 minutes for the Green Knights.

Austin Mahlik scored three assists, while Tyler Kassube had two. Lamers, Blisk, Alex Schumacher and Thomas Gritton all had one assist apiece.

St. Norbert outshot Ripon 38-5 and held a 12-0 edge on corner kicks. Scott Faul made two saves for his fourth shutout of the season. James Saager made 10 saves for the Red Hawks (2-14-1, 0-9).
