DE PERE - St. Norbert College senior defender Thomas Gritton has been named to the Capital One Division III Men's Soccer Academic All-District VI squad, presented by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

Gritton, a Neenah native, owns a 3.92 grade point average while majoring in economics and mathematics. Gritton has played in 12 matches this season for the Green Knights, and has one goal and one assist for three points. He is a two-year captain and has played in 65 career matches. Gritton is also the men's soccer team's representative to the St. Norbert Student-Athlete Advisory Council. A suite leader in his residence hall, Gritton is also a teacher's assistant in the Economics Department and is also part of the St. Norbert Center for Business and Economic Advancement.

To be eligible for national or district selection, a student-athlete must be a varsity starter or key reserve, maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.30 on a scale of 4.0, have reached sophomore athletic and academic standing at his current institution and be nominated by his sports information director. The Academic All-America team, scheduled to be announced Nov. 21, is selected after All-District teams are picked from eight geographic regions nationally. All first-team Academic All-District honorees advance to the Academic All-America ballot.
