Green Knights Take MWC Semifinal Over Carroll

MOUNT VERNON, Iowa - St. Norbert College advanced to the championship match of the Midwest Conference Tournament with a four-set win over Carroll University at the Small Multi-Sport Center on the campus of Cornell College.

The Green Knights (16-13) won with scores of 25-21, 21-25, 25-19, 25-23. St. Norbert will face Cornell at 1 p.m. Saturday in the tournament championship.

St. Norbert had an outstanding day on both ends of the court. The offense hit a robust .294, getting 69 kills against 14 errors in 187 attempts. Hannah Johnshoy led the way with 22 kills and only three errors in 51 attempts.

Breanne Brocker had 14 kills, while Maddie Sabec and Heidi Spies both had 11 kills. St. Norbert hit .362 (21-4-47) in the first set, and then retook control of the match by hitting .354 (20-3-48) in the third set.

The Green Knights were also solid defensively with 103 digs. Aubree Antosch had a team-high 23 digs, while Brocker added 21 digs. Stephanie Reed had 15 digs, while Johnshoy totaled 11 digs.

Kaitlin Delahaut totaled 58 assists, while Spies added two blocks and three service aces.
