UW-Oshkosh Slips Past St. Norbert

DE PERE - An evenly played match went the visitors' way, as UW-Oshkosh posted a 1-0 non-conference victory over St. Norbert College at the Minahan Stadium Complex.

UW-Oshkosh improved to 6-1 on the season, while St. Norbert fell to 5-4.

The Titans scored the game's lone goal just inside 10 minutes remaining in the first half. Following a St. Norbert foul, Will Howell's direct kick from about 40 yards out when through the hands of St. Norbert goalkeeper Joe Schwartz and into the net. Schwartz, who was injured on the play, left the game following the goal.

St. Norbert had a couple of good scoring chances but was turned away by Oshkosh goalkeeper Tim Gindville. Gindville had two saves for the Titans, which also had a team save. St. Norbert goalkeeper Noah Davis came on in relief of Schwartz and made five saves.

Oshkosh outshot St. Norbert 10-8, while the Green Knights had a 4-2 advantage on corner kicks. St. Norbert held a 16-15 edge on fouls in what was a physical contest.
