St. Norbert Trips Up St. Scholastica

DULUTH, Minn. - St. Norbert College picked up its first Northern Collegiate Hockey Association win of the season with a hard-fought 4-3 triumph over College of St. Scholastica at Mars Lakeview Arena.

The Green Knights (3-2, 1-2 NCHA) snapped a 2-2 tie with a pair of goals late in the second period. Katie Conlon pushed St. Norbert ahead with her second goal of the season, coming at the 15:31 mark. Lauren Roethlisberger scored shorthanded with 46 seconds left in the stanza to give the Green Knights a 4-2 lead.

St. Scholastica (4-1, 4-1) got a goal from Sierra Hanowski at 10:51 of the third period, but couldn't get the equalizer despite having the extra attacker on for the last 47 seconds of the game.

St. Norbert took a 2-0 lead in the first period, when Jillian Kosteck and Allie Patrick scored at 5:41 and 10:07, respectively. The Saints cut into the deficit with a goal by Nikki Logergren at 18:27 to make the score 2-1 after 20 minutes.

The Saints knotted the game on a power-play goal by Hanowski at 2:42 of the second period before the Green Knights scored the next two goals.

Emily Chandler had a pair of assists for St. Norbert, while Conlon also had a helper to give her a two-point game.

St. Scholastica outshot St. Norbert 31-19. Leigh Grall made 28 saves for the Green Knights, while Lindsey Hartfiel made 15 stops for the Saints. St. Scholastica was 1-for-4 on the power play, while St. Norbert was 0-for-2.
