St. Norbert Tops Illinois College to Claim 15th-Straight Victim

DE PERE - The St. Norbert College women's volleyball team remained undefeated with a 25-15, 27-25, 25-18 Midwest Conference win over Illinois College at Schuldes Sports Center.

The Green Knights have won 15 consecutive matches to start the 2008 season to continue their best start ever, and are now 3-0 in the Midwest Conference. Illinois College fell to 7-5, 1-2.

The only tense moment of the match was when Illinois College closed a deficit in the second set, but the Green Knights scored the last two points of the set to gain the pivotal victory.

Sam Jungbluth led St. Norbert with nine assists and hit .316 for the match. Katie Casebolt had eight kills on 32 attempts, while Joanna Mamayek added six kills with one error in 12 attempts. The Green Knights hit .183 for the match.

Laura Ayello had 20 assists, while Kim Angst had 13 digs and Ayello 12. Sarah Sulentic had a team-high five blocks, while Jungbluth added three service aces. St. Norbert had eight service aces in the match.
