Green Knights Tip Lions In Keweenaw Peninsula

HANCOCK, Mich. - St. Norbert College posted a late rally to come back and defeat Finlandia University 2-1 in a Northern Collegiate Hockey Association game at Houghton County Ice Arena.

The Green Knights (9-6-1, 4-4-1) trailed 1-0 through most of the first two periods. Finlandia (0-12, 0-9) got on the board at 12:23 of the first period on a power-play goal by Lindsey Jackman.

The Green Knights had three power-play opportunities but couldn't find the equalizer until their fourth chance. Ali Parker beat the second-period buzzer with a power-play goal at 19:59 of the second period, with Megan Crandell assisting, to knot the score at 1-1.

Emily Bondrager then scored her third goal in the last two goals with the eventual game-winning goal at the 5:29 mark of the third period. Jessica Sherman and Myranda Hayes tallied assists on the score.

Leigh Grall made 14 saves for St. Norbert, while Breanna Merriam made 38 stops for the Lions. St. Norbert was 1-for-7 on the power play, while Finlandia was 1-for-8.
