St. Norbert Sweeps Marian

DE PERE - St. Norbert College pumped in three power-play goals to post a 6-1 win over Marian University in a Northern Collegiate Hockey Association series sweep at Resch Olympic Pavilion.

The Green Knights (12-6-1, 7-4-1 NCHA), who won the series opener Friday 4-1, were 3-for-7 on the power play. Marian dropped to 5-12-1, 3-8.

St. Norbert took a 2-0 lead in the first period. Lexi Pyykkonen scored at the 12:47 mark for a 1-0 lead, and Jessica Sherman followed with a power-play goal at 17:45.

Marian halved its deficit at the 3:23 mark of the second period on a goal by Kristin Skubic. The Green Knights took control with a pair of power-play goals 38 seconds apart. Megan Crandell registered a goal at 12:16, and Ali Parker followed at 12:52 for her 12th marker of the season. Rachael Goodrow then scored her first collegiate goal at 14:#1.

St. Norbert scored the game's only goal at 3:29 of the third period on a score by Jillian Kosteck.

Lauren Roethlisberger scored four assists. Parker and Sherman both had assists for two-point games, while Kylie Gazzolo had two helpers.

Leigh Grall made 38 saves for St. Norbert. Amanda Alexander made 26 saves in 43:29 of work, while Ali Glazer finished with 12 saves in 16:31 of relief.
