Green Knights Settle For Tie With Falcons

MEQUON - St. Norbert College couldn't hold a two-goal lead as the Green Knights had to settle for a 2-2 tie with Concordia University Wisconsin in a Northern Collegiate Hockey Association game at Ozaukee Ice Center.

The Green Knights (12-6-2, 7-4-2 NCHA) face Marian University at 4 p.m. Saturday at Resch Olympic Pavilion.

St. Norbert took a 1-0 lead after the first period when Katie Conlon registered a power-play goal at the 8:27 mark. The Green Knights increased their lead to 2-0 on a Jillian Kosteck goal at 4:59 of the second period.

The Falcons (7-8-4, 3-6-3) answered when Emily Heckendorf scored a power-play goal at 11:42, and Samantha Reiter followed with a power-play marker at 16:44.

St. Norbert had a power-play opportunity in the final 1:31 of regulation and 29 seconds into overtime but couldn't get a game-winning goal.

Ali Parker had two assists for the Green Knights, while Kosteck also had an assist.

St. Norbert out shot Concordia 34-24. Leigh Grall made 22 saves for the Green Knights, while Bridget Slater had 32 saves for the Falcons.

St. Norbert was 1-for-3 on the power play, while Concordia was 2-for-3.
