DE PERE - St. Norbert College senior forward Andrew Schwoerer has been named to the Capital One Division III Men's Basketball Academic All-District VI squad, presented by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

District VI comprises all Division III schools in Michigan, Minnesota and Wisconsin. Only six players were selected.

Schwoerer, a Valders native, carries a 3.30 grade point average while majoring in geology. Schwoerer is averaging 16.7 points per game for the Green Knights, currently 18-1 and ranked No. 9 in the D3hoops.com Top 25. Schwoerer is ninth on St. Norbert's career scoring list with 1,323 points, the first Green Knight since 1990 to score at least 1,300 career points. Schwoerer was a second-team All-Midwest Conference selection in 2013 and 2014, and was honorable mention All-MWC in 2012. The Green Knights are 79-18 during his career - including a 43-3 mark the last two seasons - with three MWC titles and two NCAA Division III Tournament appearances.

To be eligible for national or district selection, a student-athlete must be a varsity starter or key reserve, maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.30 on a scale of 4.0, have reached sophomore athletic and academic standing at his current institution and be nominated by his sports information director. The Academic All-America team, scheduled to be announced Feb. 24, is selected after All-District teams are picked from eight geographic regions nationally. All first-team Academic All-District honorees advance to the Academic All-America ballot.
