Green Knights Win Key Game Over Lake Forest

DE PERE - St. Norbert College moved into second place in the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association with a 4-2 win over Lake Forest College at Resch Olympic Pavilion.
The Green Knights (14-6-3, 9-4-3 NCHA) moved one point ahead of the No. 10-ranked Foresters (10-6-3, 9-4-2) in the league standings. St. Norbert is idle next weekend while Lake Forest makes up its one game in hand on the Green Knights.
St. Norbert took a 2-0 lead after the first period. Reaghan Chadwick scored at 9:01 of the opening frame, while Emily Bondrager tallied a marker at 17:13.
The Foresters scored the first two goals of the second period to tie the score at 2-2. Melissa Paluch scored at 7:35, followed by Holly Lesperance's goal at 9:46. The Green Knights pulled ahead late in the second period on Lauren Roethlisberger's goal at 17:56.
Allie Patrick scored at 12:37 of the third period to give the Green Knights an insurance goal down the stretch.
Roethlisberger and Chadwick both had two assists to finish with three-point games for the Green Knights.
Lake Forest outshot St. Norbert 30-26. Leigh Grall made 28 saves for the Green Knights, while Casey Hartfiel turned away 22 shots for the Foresters. St. Norbert was 0-for-3 on the power play, while Lake Forest was 0-for-1.
