Big Second Half Leads St. Norbert Past Knox

GALESBURG, Ill. - St. Norbert College rang up 63 second-half points en route to a 106-74 win over Knox College in a Midwest Conference game at Memorial Gym.

The Green Knights (19-3, 16-1 MWC) were 22-for-33 (66.7 percent) from the floor in the second half and were also 19-for-27 (70.4 percent) at the free-throw line to pull away from a 43-35 halftime lead.

Knox (9-12, 7-9) led 30-25 with 7:15 left in the first half on a 3-pointer by Jasmine Binion. St. Norbert forged the 11th time of the game with a 34-34 tie on the first of two made free throws by Heidi Van Sistine at the 2:55 mark. The Green Knights closed out the half on a 12-1 run overall, with Stephanie Weigman getting two baskets in the last 47 seconds of the half to lead by eight.

The Green Knights eventually pulled away in the second half. Tasha Giese's basket at the 15:48 mark started a 22-4 run that put the Prairie Fire away. Van Sistine, Rachel Hagge and Jessica House all had conventional three-point plays during the run, which ended at a 76-48 St. Norbert lead with 10:14 remaining.

St. Norbert, which defeated Knox 112-68 earlier in the season on Jan. 17, shot 55.7 percent (39-for-70) from the floor for the game. Weigman led St. Norbert with a career-high 26 points. Van Sistine added 23 points and 11 rebounds, while Brianna Byrne had 17 points.

Knox was 20-for-65 (30.8 percent) from the floor and 11-for-39 (28.2 percent) on three-point field-goal attempts. Jodi Marver led Knox with 14 points.
