Green Knights Split On First Day at Hilton Head

HILTON HEAD, S.C. - St. Norbert College split a pair of matches on its first day of action during spring break, losing to NCAA Division II Northwood (Mich.) University 9-0 before defeating St. Mary's (Md.) College 8-1.

The Green Knights (14-2) swept all three doubles points against St. Mary's. Elizabeth Manlick and Nancy Chybowski beat Shannon Ramsey and Emily Stumpfig 8-2 at No. 1. Katherine Ake and Erika Chitko followed with an 8-2 win at No. 2 over Melissa Barall and Mollie Johnson. Anna Gosz and Ashley Randazzo defeated Lauren Rost and Emily Rost 8-2 at No. 3.

Manlick topped Ramsey 7-5, 6-4 at No. 1 singles, while Ake defeated Stumpfig 7-5, 6-4 at No. 3. Chitko posted a 6-3, 6-0 triumph over Lauren Rost at No. 4, while Anna Gosz defeated Emily Rost 6-4, 6-3 at No. 5. Randazzo defeated Johnson 6-3, 6-1 at No. 6.
