Green Knights Enter Post-Season With 22-7 Mark

WINONA, Minn. - St. Norbert College ended the regular season with a pair of non-conference wins, beating NCAA Division II Winona State University 5-4 and then blanking St. Mary's University 9-0.

The Green Knights (22-7) will face Lake Forest College on Friday at Nielsen Tennis Stadium in Madison in the semifinals of the Midwest Conference Tournament.

St. Norbert took two of three doubles points against Winona State. Erika Chitko and Katherine Ake topped Katie Scruggs and Leah Dahl 8-1 at No. 2, while Anna Gosz and Ashley Randazzo defeated Ellyn Grossen and Lauren Willkom 8-1 at No. 3.

Chitko then claimed a 6-1, 6-1 win over Scruggs at No. 4 singles. Gosz defeated Grossen 7-5, 6-2 at No. 5 singles, while Randazzo defeated Willkom 6-1, 6-0 at No. 6 singles.

Against St. Mary's, Elizabeth Manlick and Nancy Chybowski beat Kirsten Hoffmann and Megan Vandenberg 8-1 at No. 1 doubles. Ake and Chitko beat Ashley Syed and Stacey Buss 8-4 at No. 2 doubles, while Gosz and Randazzo defeated Haley Jorgensen and Sheyenne Bauer 8-2 at No. 3 doubles.

Manlick beat Hoffmann 6-1, 6-4 at No. 1 singles, followed by Ake's 6-2, 7-5 win over Vandenberg at No. 2. Chybowski beat Jorgensen 7-5, 6-1 at No. 3, and Chitko bested Syed 6-2, 6-1 at No. 4. Gosz beat Buss 6-0, 6-1 at No. 5, and Randazzo topped Bauer 6-1, 6-0 at No. 6.
