Sub-300 Round Lifts St. Norbert to Midwest Preview Meet Title

ROCKFORD, Ill. - St. Norbert College turned in a sub-300 round to lift the Green Knights to the title of the Midwest Preview Meet at Aldeen Golf Club.

St. Norbert scored a 298, its best-ever showing in a multi-team tournament format. All eight Midwest Conference schools playing men's golf participated in the tournament, held on the conference championship course two weeks ahead of the league tournament. Grinnell College was in second place 12 strokes back with a 310.

The Green Knights' Ben Bobinski and Ben Verbeten tied for first place with Grinnell's J.P. DeFranco. The trio all finished with a 73 on the par-72, 6,615-yard layout.

Nick Mueller finished tied for seventh with a 75, while Isaiah Harmison and Ben Socha placed in a tie for ninth each shooting a 77.

Tony Arnold rounded out the Green Knights' sextet with an 83 to finish in a tie for 18th place.
