BELOIT - St. Norbert College got it just 4 1/2 innings of action before thunderstorms hit the area but it was enough to be dealt a 4-2 loss to Beloit College at The Ballpark at Strong Stadium. The second game of the Midwest Conference North Division doubleheader was rained out and will not be made up.

St. Norbert (19-16, 11-4 MWC North) still advances to the MWC Tournament Friday at Grinnell College. The Green Knights, the MWC North runner-up, will face South Division champion Grinnell in a first-round game.

Beloit got a solo home run from Alex Lawrence in the first inning. Mike Gulve had an RBI triple and Lawrence hit another solo home run in the third inning to key a three-run rally.

St. Norbert scored twice in the top of the fifth. Derek Klegin drew a bases-loaded walk and Brandon Kozinski was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded, but the Green Knights couldn't score again in the inning. Heavy thunderstorms then deluged the playing field.

The Green Knights had just four hits. Brendan Hermann took the loss, allowing four hits with no walks and three strikeouts.
