Day 7 (5/25/15) - Today the St. Norbert College men's basketball team toured the "new" Barcelona. Downtown Barcelona has a population just over 1.5 million people and Barcelona altogether has a population of over 4 million people. The parliament of Barcelona wanted a "greener" city, so they installed many bicycle lanes, which can be seen when traveling around the city. Additionally, we saw many architectural masterpieces created by Antoni Gaudi, including the cathedral, Sagrada Familia. Construction of the Sagrada Familia started 133 years ago, and it will not be finished for another 11 years. It is the most visited place in Spain. After the tour, we had free time for shopping and eating.

Game #2: The Green Knights lost to CB Tarragona 61-54. The players learned that the European referees have a different definition of traveling. Ben Bobinski led the way with 14 points, Tim Marshall had eight points, and Brett O'Sullivan had seven points. D.J. De Valk had a one-handed slam dunk midway through the game.

Day 8 (5/26/15) - Today the team experienced the "old" Barcelona on a walking tour. This part of Barcelona has remnants of ancient palaces and the Town Hall. After the walking tour, the team had more free time to go shopping, try different cuisines, and even go to the beach to see the Mediterranean Sea.

Game #3: The Green Knights lost to CB Prat-Joventut, a very talented team. CB Prat-Joventut is the No. 1 Division II team in Spain, and is where Ricky Rubio played. Bobinski led the way with 11 points and Bryan Dalton added 10 points. The arena we played in was where the Dream Team played in the 1992 Barcelona Olympics.

Final post in two days when the team returns home.
