DE PERE - St. Norbert College women's ice hockey coach Rob Morgan has been named associate head coach at Yale University, the school announced today.

Morgan, St. Norbert's first women's hockey coach, led the Green Knights to a 78-49-12 record in five seasons. He led the Green Knights to the 2013 NCAA Division III Tournament after piloting the squad to the championship of the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association O'Brien Cup Playoffs.

"Rob did an outstanding job building our women's hockey program from scratch," St. Norbert athletics director Tim Bald said. "We wish him well in his new position at Yale."

During his time at St. Norbert, Morgan was named 2013 NCAA Division III West Region Coach of the Year by D3hockey.com and shared the NCHA Coach of the Year honor in 2014. The Green Knights had two All-America selections, one CoSIDA Academic All-America honoree and nine All-NCHA choices under his supervision.

Bald said a national search for the St. Norbert opening is underway. Morgan's final day of employment at St. Norbert is August 31.
