St. Norbert Rallies Past Viterbo

ST. PETER, Minn. - St. Norbert College rallied in the second half to post a 2-1 win over Viterbo University at the Gustie Soccer Classic at Gustavus Adolphus College.

The Green Knights (2-1) found themselves trailing the V-Hawks (2-4) by a 1-0 margin at halftime. Viterbo led on a Jordan Penn goal in the game's 28th minute.

St. Norbert scored twice off corner kicks to garner the victory. Griffin Hoerchner scored in the 49th minute off assists from Tyler Kassube and Sam Lamers to knot the score 1-1. Kassube then followed off a corner kick from Lamers in the 59th minute to bring the Green Knights ahead 2-1, and the lead would hold up the rest of the way.

St. Norbert outshot Viterbo by a slim 20-19 margin, but had a 13-6 edge in the second half. Eddie Sanchez made six saves to lead St. Norbert, while Quinten Ludwig had six saves for Viterbo.

Lamers, Kassube, Joe Spera and Marco Delbecchi were named to the All-Tournament Team.
